UPDATE [February 2021]: I have received my covid vaccination and can furnish documentaion after successful prescreening ***
As we are entering the 2nd wave of the Covid surge, it's important that I remain transparent regarding what my practices are and what my expectations are for meetings during this period.
Please note that I am carefully tracking Covid updates and trends. Safety for myself and my patrons are top priority. I am accepting very few meetings per month with periods of social distancing in between - and I expect all potential new patrons to maintain a similar practice while travel restrictions and social distancing recommendations are in place.
Best Practices During This Time:
If you have developed new or worsening flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, etc.), or have pending covid test results for you OR your family members -- do not schedule an appointment.
If you have had Covid in the past and it has been more than 30 days since a positive diagnosis -- granted that you are not symptomatic at the time of booking -- you can schedule an appointment
CDC data indicates "that persons with mild to moderate COVID-19 remain infectious no longer than 10 days after symptom onset. Persons with more severe to critical illness or severe immunocompromise likely remain infectious no longer than 20 days after symptom onset" [Source: Centers for Disease Control, Oct 2020].
Frequently Asked Questions: Booking and Cancellations
In regards to booking, I have had quite a few questions landing in my inbox , so the following might be helpful for you.
Q: How are you handling cancellations during this time?
A: I understand that during this time we all have to be especially fluid in canceling and rearranging personal schedules in the effort of keeping oneself and those closest to us as safe as practically possible. In normal cases, for a cancellation within 24 hours, the deposit to secure your appointment would not apply towards a rescheduled booking - however, for cancellations due to covid-related reasons - if you need to cancel your appointment within 24 hours (including same day), your deposit WILL be able to be applied to rescheduling your next visit, but my standard cancellation fee of 50% still applies for the cancelled visit.
It is assumed that you or those closest to you do not have any covid tests results pending at the time you book your appointment -- it would be unlikely for a situation such as this to immediately arise on the same day you also happen to need to cancel our appointment.
I also understand that it is possible for you to have everything in order -- you're all set and ready to go! -- and still on the day of your appointment, you wake up with a sore throat, cough or fever. While this is a bummer for sure, do not continue with our our appointment. You will not lose your deposit. Please communicate your need to reschedule.
Q: I have prebooked in advance with you. What should I do in the event that I or someone in my family have tested positive for Covid or have been exposed to someone with Covid?
A: The first call you should make would be your doctor, of course ;-)
As long as you give more than 24 hours notice of your need to cancel, your deposit will count towards securing your next visit.
Q: What are you doing during this time to stay safe? And what happens in the event that YOU need to cancel, Adriana?
A: I take extra precaution to assure that my exposure risks remain low:
I am taking very few appointments per month during this time.
I take daily temperature checks
I practice social distancing and masking at all times in my personal life
I am Covid tested weekly
In the event that I need to cancel within 24 hours, your deposit will be applied to a future visit + 30 minutes extra added as a "thank you" for understanding. In the unlikely event of a same day cancellation on my end, you will have the option of a refund of your deposit OR an extra + 30 minutes added onto your your next visit.
Covid-Related Cancellations
Less than 24 hours/same day - you will NOT lose your deposit, can be applied to next visit.
50% cancellation fee still applies.
